Giant Eagle - Pharmacist Review from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Rude Manager
Your papers please!!!!! Schnell!
I've been a regular customer of giant eagle for over 25 years. I buy my gas at get-go and I buy the bulk of my groceries at your store.
I think my purchases only prove my loyalty to your store......I find it troubling that I'm expected to sign up for your advantage card if I want to use the self checkout registers. I understand needing it to get the discounts, but to use a checkout line? What's next? Will I need an advantage card to use shopping carts?
I'm just trying to give you my money as soon as possible....but since that's not okay with you, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
Some place that doesn't make you wait in a line for 20 minutes while you have to stare at 20 open self checkout registers. It was nice doing business with you, but this relationship has to end.......its definitely you not me.

The reason they can not tell you is because they do live billing with insurance companies. They have to have an actual prescription to process it.
The only other way for you to know what your company would be is to call the insurance and ask them. The only thing they can tell you is the cash price of your medication.
I don't think there is anything that specifically tells you in an ad that their prices are cheaper, but that they do offer a list of generic medications that is on their $4/10 list. Those medications are available on their website.
after reading some of these complaints about giant eagle pharmacy, I just have to ask these people whom are writing these complaints- what makes you think for one second you know the first *** thing about the pharmacy business and especially pharmacy law? not only is the general public unbelievably rude and completely ignorant, I believe they are just so *** entitled that they must be entitled to hear the reality- which is to say that you honesty and clearly don't know a *** thing about pharmacy.
You say that a mistake could be life altering yet you are angry if it takes longer to prepare your prescription? Do you want it correct or do you want it fast? You want to know how much your prescription will cost? Well did you know that your insurance company determines your copay and not the pharmacy?
Oh you didn't know that? Surprise. You're mad because your pharmacy didn't have your medication in stock? Oh, I forgot...
you are probably their only customer and that medication was your entitlement and they shouldn't have dispensed it to any other customers as their health doesn't matter to you.
REALITY- there's a pharmacy on almost every major intersection- shut your mouth, stop your ***, do a little work yourself and find YOUR medication somewhere else. The days of PC are ending.
