Custoner relations Poor

My wife and I were shopping at your store on Mayfield Rd. in Mayfield Heights this morning. When we came to the register I had mention to the cashier that the belt where the groceries are put to be rung out was very unsanatary.& There was spilled milk there was blood spots from packaged meat that had leaked , and who knows what When I asked the cashier if they ever washed the belt she than coped an attitude and was very rude to my wife. After the groceries were rung up the check was processed electronicly and the cashier was so ( pissed off ) that she did not even let my wife review the processed check, she just put it in the register. Their was a bagger helping the cashier so I asked her whom I could speak to about the problem. She also was very rude to me for bringing up the question. Her answer was go to customer service and tell them. When we came up to the register they were both standing and talking.&; Now If I were their supervisor When there were no customers and they were just standing around that's when the cleaning of their work station should take place. So as of this day my wife and I will be looking to shop else where

Pharmacy S*cks

They tell you in their advertisement how their prescriptions prices are cheaper, how they want you to transfer your prescriptions. But if you call them, don't expect the pharmacy gang to tell you what it costs. Want to know what it costs - either come in and they'll process the prescription or call your own insurance company (and that's always a trip to the gates of *** But, then again, knowing of the family that owns Giant Eagle and how they have run businesses in the past, no surprise here. Would someone please open an ALDI-equivalent for the drug store business?

The reason they can not tell you is because they do live billing with insurance companies. They have to have an actual prescription to process it.

The only other way for you to know what your company would be is to call the insurance and ask them. The only thing they can tell you is the cash price of your medication.

I don't think there is anything that specifically tells you in an ad that their prices are cheaper, but that they do offer a list of generic medications that is on their $4/10 list. Those medications are available on their website.

after reading some of these complaints about giant eagle pharmacy, I just have to ask these people whom are writing these complaints- what makes you think for one second you know the first *** thing about the pharmacy business and especially pharmacy law? not only is the general public unbelievably rude and completely ignorant, I believe they are just so *** entitled that they must be entitled to hear the reality- which is to say that you honesty and clearly don't know a *** thing about pharmacy.

You say that a mistake could be life altering yet you are angry if it takes longer to prepare your prescription? Do you want it correct or do you want it fast? You want to know how much your prescription will cost? Well did you know that your insurance company determines your copay and not the pharmacy?

Oh you didn't know that? Surprise. You're mad because your pharmacy didn't have your medication in stock? Oh, I forgot...

you are probably their only customer and that medication was your entitlement and they shouldn't have dispensed it to any other customers as their health doesn't matter to you.

REALITY- there's a pharmacy on almost every major intersection- shut your mouth, stop your ***, do a little work yourself and find YOUR medication somewhere else. The days of PC are ending.

Unclean register belts where food is deposited

This morning my wife and I were shopping at your Mayfield Rd. store in Mayfield Hts. Oh. When we brought our groceries to the register the cashier and the bagger were standing doing nothing. I began to put my groceries on the belt. I stopped the belt was filthy there was spilled milk, there was wet blood spots from leaking meat packages. I asked the cashier if they ever wash the belt. What she did was press the switch and change the position of the belt. She was than very rude to my wife because I told her that her work station was unsanitary. Needless to say we are not going to shop their any more. We are very unhappy customers.

Giant Eagle Gibsonia PA- The evening closing shift lady was very rude. Kept continuously saying they were closing every 5 minutes for an hour. It was not necessary and when I shop, I don't need people screaming over the intercome reminding they're closing when I already heard them. Also, it's very unprofessional to scream random things over the intercome. The higher up will be contacted.

Giant Eagle - Pharmacist Review from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

I went to the pharmacy last night after a root canal and having tooth pulled. Got out of the dentist 9 25 rushed to get to the pharmacy before they closed and was told they are out of this pain med and MAYBE tomorrow will have it in. They wanted to close I'm standing there with a swollen Jaw , blood gauze in my mouth, and tears from the pain n did not try to contact dentist to at least try to get a substitute. This same thing happened before after a procedure, same pain med as before. The pharmacist are rude and I have a 2 month refill on hydrocodone. Wanted it filled 2 days sooner which the tech told me I could do so it could be ready with my other 2 meds. Pharmacist told me if I need this med earlier Dr needs to write a new script and I should have meds left. He did not talk to me privately and spoke loudly and was very rude. Anyone in the pharmacy line could hear him. Changing pharmacies. Rudest people I ever dealt with and they don't know how to stock meds, they are always out of a med.

Rude Manager

Today, I was at the Giant Eagle in Tallmadge off the circle. I observed a manager who I later found out name was Annette being very rude and unprofessional on the sales floor. I was shopping with my children and I was forced to remove us from encountering this person who is put in a management role. Her voice was raised to the point you could hear it aisles away. I have shopped here before and seen her milling around the store shouting out orders. I am looking forward to shopping at the Acme Fresh Market down the street to have a more enjoyable experience.

IF you think you are complaining on the Giant Eagle web site, you are sadly mistaken. This is a general complaint site.

It isn't really any of your business how the manager talks to the employees.

You have no idea what preceded what you claim to have heard. I'm sure Giant Eagle won't miss your business.

Your papers please!!!!! Schnell!

I've been a regular customer of giant eagle for over 25 years. I buy my gas at get-go and I buy the bulk of my groceries at your store.

I think my purchases only prove my loyalty to your store......I find it troubling that I'm expected to sign up for your advantage card if I want to use the self checkout registers. I understand needing it to get the discounts, but to use a checkout line? What's next? Will I need an advantage card to use shopping carts?

I'm just trying to give you my money as soon as possible....but since that's not okay with you, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Some place that doesn't make you wait in a line for 20 minutes while you have to stare at 20 open self checkout registers. It was nice doing business with you, but this relationship has to end.......its definitely you not me.

Poor product selection

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Need to travel to multiple GEs to get basic food items. One trip to Whole Foods or Heinens (local chain) takes care of it. Different GE stores have different product offerings, different product/aisle organization. The GE at Snow & Broadview in Parma, OH is the worst. After many years of shopping there/at its predecessors, I am officially done with GE and will spend more $ to save time at WF or Heinens. On the plus side, I do not believe that I have ended up with spoiled dairy products, regardless of expiration dates. If nothing else, their coolers seem to operate well.

Fairlawn, Ohio stores filled with rude, incompetent employees

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
On a regular basis, employees at both stores are unwilling to help with questions or at checkout. Many employees watch you check out as if you are stealing something. When help is needed at checkout (regular, given the antiquated system Giant Eagle uses), employees often seem bothered and agitated to provide customers with help. Cashiers have NO IDEA of corporate coupon policy. They have no idea of store policy on sales. They are just not trained well. Corporate headquarters doesn't return emails when complaining. Store managers and supervisors basically laugh in your face when raising these sorts of issues. I cannot wait for this piece-of-***-of-a-store to go under.

There is more to this story than you are telling. How far away from the electric cart do you roam when you are off it?

I have found that when I use those carts and can't reach something there is always another customer or an employee nearby that I can ask for help reaching an item. That is why the good Lord gave people a mouth and the ability to speak, to ask for help when needed. I don't imagine it ever occurred to you to ask the man that you SAY was following you around and taking your cart to reach something for you.

That would have been the logical thing to do. In the meantime while you are feeling so sorry for yourself work at improving your capitalization and punctuation.

I loved reading this story... All I could think about was how your clearly a PSYCO ***!

First you believe someone at Giant Eagle has nothing better to do than follow you around to steal your motorized cart?! Then you yell at the commenter claiming they are texting you, and that you don't owe them an explanation?! Thank the Lord Obama was elected and you can benefit from his freeloading assistance program...

Because I couldn't imagine you in the modern day workforce!

Have fun being Cray Cray!

GIANT EAGLE PHARMACY INCOMPETENT AND RUDE!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I asked for a refill cholesterol and they gave me blood Pressure med! How incompetent can one get. They are actually dangerous! I called to transfer all prescriptions (8/month) to Rite Aid. I was treated very rudely by the PHARMACIST! This is NOT he first time either. They did not tell me that the pharmaceutial company had changed their formula, but could not supply it-! When I went to pick up the med-which is needed DAILY-they said they had called and told me! I have all my calls logged on line and they DID NOT EVER call me! They lied and said they did. I have an answering machine also-no calls. So I had enough! My money spends anywhere!

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE---NOT A COMPLAINT--MERRY XMAS

12/22/14 I WAS IN THE PAINSVILLE STORE AND NEEDED ASSISTANCE FINDING A PRODUCT. I ASKED ONE OF THE GIRLS, KAYCEE, STOCKING SHELVES, IF SHE COULD ASSIST ME. SHE STOPED WHAT SHE WAS DOING AND WALKED ME OVER TO THE AREA WHERE THE PRODUCT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. WE COULD NOT FIND IT. THAT BEING SAID, I CONTINUED ON. I SHOPPED FOR SEVERAL MORE ITEMS AND PROCEEDED TO CHECK OUT. BEHIND ME I HEARD KAYCEE CALL ME AND TELL ME THAT SHE HAD THE ANSWER TO MY QUEST. SHE HAD SEARCHED THE WHOLE STORE TO LOCATE ME. AN OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE. SHE HAD A BEAUTIFUL SMILE AND WAS VERY HELPFUL.
